Happy Thanksgiving!

Uncle Cliff and Aunt Paula hosted Thanksgiving
this year. Nicholas enjoyed turkey, gravy and
pumpkin pie. I learned that he hates stuffing
and loves Cool Whip!

Above: Cliff's sister Paula with her
daughter Sara, son Aiden and our
beautiful niece Anastasia.

First Snowfall

Okay, it was only an inch or two of snow, but
we couldn't resist suiting up the little guy. As
you can see here, I put him down, he headed
off on his own and didn't look back. Now if
we could only get him to keep his mittens on!

Headed for Home Base

Up until now, Nicholas has proved to be pretty
fearless. However, the new arrival of a remote
control car has Nicholas headed for the safety
of daddy. He's not quite sure what to think of it.

Fun in the Tub

Why are you always asking me to dance?

Here's a video where I try to get Nicholas to
show you some of his dance moves. Clearly, he
would rather spin the wheels on his truck.

Weather Testing

Nicholas is out testing his new winter suit
in anticipation of cold days to come. Just
don't tell him he looks like the Michelin Man.

Upside Down

Nicholas has many, many tricks. Our favorite
is when he turns upside down and looks through
his legs. What makes this even better is that he
figured this out on his own. Time to sign up for
tumbling class.

Halloween

What a difference a year makes. Last year, Nicholas
was sleeping in a pumpkin patch (remember this?)

This year, Nicholas dressed up as a fierce (okay, friendly)
dragon. Our neighborhood trick or treat features a haunted
block and while Nicholas was unphased by the haunts, Evan
nearly jumped out of his skin when a man in a gorilla suit
tapped on his shoulder. If only I had a picture of that.

Tissue Anyone?

Well, I guess cold and flu season is officially here. Nicholas survived his first cold and thanks to a pesky runny nose he even learned how to help himself to a Kleenex. Make that plural. As you can see from these pictures, Nicholas is well on the road to recovery.

A Contagious Laugh

Grandpa Ted always tells us that it is
important to make sure your children
have a good sense of humor. Well, Nicholas
seems to have a pretty good one. You never
know what will make him erupt in laughter.
Here is a video from last night at storytime.
Nicholas seemed to think the word "boon"
(short for balloon)was very funny.

Going for a Walk

A Family Hike

If you follow this blog you know that Evan is often
the man behind the camera. Well, today was my chance
to take some photos of my two favorite guys. This is
Nicholas' first hike and even though it was amidst the
flat terrain of Brookfield we think it was good pratice
for a Yellowstone trip in the not so distant future. Enjoy!

Winter is here?!

The temperature is dropping here in WI
so we took Nicholas' new hat for a test run today.

We Found Nemo

Nicholas does his fish impression.
Don't blink, you might miss it!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Just like daddy

Nicholas observes Evan's every move and Nicholas
is quick to imitate. Nicholas' latest trick is a fake cough
which quickly follows each and every time Evan coughs.
Hilarious.

Can I a get a hair brush, please?

Tickle My Funny Bone

Grammie Kathy has a way of making Nicholas giggle
... no matter what they are doing. Who knew shouting
into a paper towel roll could be so much fun!

Enjoying the final days of summer

Is Winter here yet?

Admittedly, it is more of a TV tray than a sled,
but Nicholas is definitely ready for sledding season!

Hanging out with my cousins

Cousin Drew loves pinching Nicholas' chubby cheeks and Cousin Jack can't seem to stop hugging Nicholas. Sure, Nicholas loves the attention, but the look on his face tells me he is going to remember this when he catches up in size!
