Ready to Work

Not even the recession intimidates Nicholas.
Looks like he is ready to head out and find work.
Wait until they see how many words per minute he can type.

Dear Diary

Can you tell we've run out of things to do around the house?
Nicholas loves to sit at the computer and type. Hopefully, he
is the next Bill Gates.

Jet Setter

Nicholas went to visit Grandpa Ted and Grandma Barb
one last time before they move from Washington DC to
Charleston, South Carolina. We certainly packed a lot
of fun into a short visit.

Nicholas sat in his own seat on the airplane. He
entertained himself nearly the entire way. Both
flight attendants offered to take him home, but
I declined the offer.

Nicholas' favorite part of the trip was watching the airplanes land at Washington National Airport. The airport is set up so you can get really close to the planes as they fly overhead. Nicholas loves engines, loud noises, wheels and things that fly so this was right up his alley. He was smiling from ear to ear and when we got back into the car he continued to make the sign for "more" and I'm pretty sure that meant he wanted to see more airplanes.

Long Overdue

Where does the time go?! I've been meaning to update the
blog for quite some time now. Nicholas is now walking, or
should I say running, everywhere. We've been on lots of
adventures over the past month. Nicholas went down his
first big waterslide (with me) and I wish I could've captured
the look on his face when we got to the bottom. It was a mix
between terror and confusion. Too many cute pictures to post
and not enough time! Here are a few of our recent favorites.

Fun at home with Grammie Kathy


What's wrong with this picture? What can I say,
I left him with Evan for two minutes and this is what
happens. How can you resist those big blue eyes? I'm
guessing that is how he ended up with the banana bread
in hand.

Next Stop: Bath tub

Nicholas loves to feed himself lunch. Unfortunately, he
also loves to put food in his hair. He headed straight for
a bath after this meal so I could unpaste his eyebrows
and hair from his head! Oh, and I think it might be
time to trade our bib in for a smock.

Not just walking...playing basketball!

Nicholas decided it was about time he started walking! Who knew he had been wanting to play basketball this whole time?! While I am thrilled that Nicholas is walking I sort of miss the thump, thump, thumping sound of him crawling around the house. But his new, quieter mode of transportation makes it easier for him to surprise mommy.

Remembering my Grandmother

This past weekend was full of emotion as our family
celebrated the life of my grandmother, Jeanne Kuczynski.
My grandmother was beautiful on the inside and out. She
was sharp, classy and witty as can be. Oh, and she played
a mean game of Scrabble (she beat Evan and me last time
we challenged her to a game). Her spirit lives on in our
hearts and she will be missed by all who were lucky enough
to know her.
